The late Paul Oskar Kristeller Paul Oskar Kristeller (May 22, 1905 in Berlin - July 7, 1999 in New York, USA) was an important scholar of Renaissance humanism. He was last active as Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at Columbia University in New York.  (1905-1999) revolutionized Renaissance Studies and significantly influenced three generations of students, scholars, and non-specialist general readers through his teaching, lecturing, research, scholarship, and writings.
