Judge Patricia Jarman-Manning scored the bout 116-112 for Tabanas, John Stewart scored it 115-113 for Sakkreerin and Bill Graham called it even, 114-114. Tabanas kept his record even, 1-1-1 in world title fights, while snapping Sakkreerin's winning streak, who had won 20 consecutive bouts, dating to December 1992.
