KoreaAmericaKorea.ARTSONJE CENTER Curated by David Ross, director of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and Sun Jun Kim, chief curator of the Artsonje Center, in Seoul, this show brings together twenty paintings, films, and installations by eleven established and emerging Korean-American artists (among them Theresa Hak Kyung Cha, Michael Joo, and Byron Kim). The exhibition addresses both the artists' connection to and distance from their ancestral culture; the title is based on the concept "Jung Carl Gustav 1875-1961. Swiss psychiatrist who founded analytical psychology and came up with the concepts of extraversion and introversion and the notion of the collective unconscious. |
