(NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :MDU) announced that it acquired the Montana corporations of D'Agostino Companies which provide concrete ready-mix and related services in the Bozeman, Montana Bozeman is a city in southwestern Montana, USA. It is the county seat of Gallatin County. With a 2000 population of 27,509, Bozeman is the fifth largest city in the state. The city is named after John M. Bozeman, founder of the Bozeman Trail. area. The acquisition is expected to be accretive to MDU Resources' earnings. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed. D'Agostino Companies are headquartered in Belgrade, Montana Belgrade is a city in Gallatin County, Montana, United States. The population was 5,728 at the 2000 census. It was named in honor of Thomas B. Quaw, a capitalist from Belgrade, Serbia who founded the town in 1882. Gallatin Field Airport is located within the city boundaries. , and serve customers within a 40-mile radius. The market area includes Bozeman, which is one of the fastest growing cities in the state of Montana. Sales for the year ended December 31, 1999, were approximately $8 million. The D'Agostino Companies included in the purchase are D'Agostino Concrete, Inc., a Belgrade, Montana, ready-mix supplier; Chamber Dawgs, Inc., a Livingston, Montana, ready-mix supplier; D'Agostino Masonry Supply, Inc., a retail supplier of masonry products including stone, rock, rebar re·bar n. 1. A rod or bar used for reinforcement in concrete or asphalt pourings. 2. A group of such rods forming a grid.
