Energy supply is an important issue in the scoping study. (Press release #13-2005)

Klondike Star has contracted with Leading Edge Projects Inc. and partners, one of the most proven and knowledgeable northern wind development groups in North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere.  with experience serving mining projects, to design and install wind resource monitoring equipment that can accommodate northern temperature and icing conditions In aviation, icing conditions are those atmospheric conditions that can lead to the formation of water ice on the surfaces of the aircraft, or as carburetor icing within the engine. Inlet icing is another engine-related danger, often occurring in jet aircraft. . In 2001, John Maissan, P.Eng., President of Leading Edge Projects Inc. received the R.J. Templin award for technical leadership in the development of northern wind technology in Canada from the Canadian Wind Energy Association (www.canwea.ca).

"Klondike Star is delighted to attract the services of a superior team of wind energy specialists to determine what role this renewable energy alternative can play in the supply mix for Lone Star Project mine planning", said Hans Boge, President, Klondike Star Mineral Corporation.

Boge also said, "Furthermore, our efforts to prepare a thorough and top notch scoping study underline our vision which is to explore for and develop new mines".

The first wind monitoring tower is expected to be installed on the top of the Eldorado Dome in June, complete with a battery bank supplied by power from smaller wind turbines. If, as expected, sufficient wind is available, the site and others in the general vicinity can accommodate at least a 5-10 megawatt wind farm.

Klondike Star's Environment and Sustainable Development Policy drives the company focus on energy conservation and efficiency and a preference for renewable energy solutions for its electrical power and energy requirements.

The Lone Star Project is an advanced, late stage exploration project that is being studied for potential mine development.
