Kitman Dan's hampered by 2-match ban.
The colourful former Livingston backroom member was sent to the stand by Thomson 10 minutes into the second half of the 2-2 draw for "unacceptable conduct".
It was the fourth warning Accies' technical area had received during a fiery clash in which Guillaume Beuzelin was red carded after half an hour.
Manager Billy Reid said: "There was a time in the game when we felt frustrated and that we were not getting too much out of the match and I think it boiled over a wee bit on the touchline."
Reid was also in the wars in the technical area, suffering an embarrassing fall as he celebrated Marco Paixao's goal that put his side 2-1 in front by swinging on the roof of the dugout - only for it to give way and send him crashing to the ground.
He laughed:"Thatwasasilly moment, we got carried away."
Better news for Reid is that influential skipper Alex Neil is poised to end his injury hell.
Neil has not played all season following a summer hip operation. But he is hopeful of featuring in a bounce game in the next few days to prove his fitness for the crunch meeting with bottom side Falkirk a week on Saturday.
He said: "Depending on how I get on I'll hopefully be involved against Falkirk because it's a huge game.
"I've been doing warm-ups before games but the injury hasn't been tested in a match so we'll need to see if we can get some games sorted."
Reid said: "Alex has been out for a long time and we just want to make sure he's right when he does come back."
