 Pharmaceuticals have jointly announced that they have singed a joint research agreement for JR-013, a compound candidate discovered by JCR Pharmaceuticals. JR-013 is a drug candidate for the treatment of renal anemia based on recombinant human erythropoietin erythropoietin /eryth·ro·poi·e·tin/ (-poi´e-tin) a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the kidney in the adult and by the liver in the fetus, which acts on stem cells of the bone marrow to stimulate red blood cell production .

Under the agreement terms, Kissei Pharmaceutical will make milestone payments to JCR Pharmaceuticals while being licensed to sell the agent in Japan.
