Kirk Cruikshank Joins Silicon Valley Start-Up as Chief Executive Officer.


SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1998--Hyperion Solutions Corporation (Nasdaq:HYSL), a leading provider of analytic application software for reporting, analysis, modeling and planning, today announced that Kirk Cruikshank has resigned his position as senior vice president of marketing to take the position of president and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Cruikshank served as the vice president of marketing for Arbor Software See Hyperion.  from January 1993 to August 1998 and became the senior vice president of marketing for Hyperion Solutions Hyperion Solutions Corporation is a business performance management software company, located in Santa Clara, California, USA. Many of its products are targeted at the Business Intelligence and Business performance management market.  when Arbor Software and Hyperion Software merged on Aug. 24, 1998.

In a separate press release today, Hyperion Solutions announced that Bill Clark, former vice president of marketing for Hyperion Solutions, will assume Cruikshank's position as senior vice president of marketing. Clark has relocated from Stamford, Conn. to run marketing from Hyperion Solutions' headquarters in California.

Clark and Cruikshank collaborated extensively during the merger, working together for more than three months to shape the company's vision and strategy to lead the analytic application software market.
