Kinkade, Tolkien & Rowling. (Letters to the Editor).

First you gave us Kinkade "The Painter of Light" and now "The Lord of the Rings" (see "A Beacon in the Night" by William F. Jasper in the December 17,2001 issue of TNA TnA Total Nonstop Action (wrestling alliance)
TNA The National Archives (UK)
TNA Training Needs Analysis
TNA Tamil National Alliance (Sri Lanka)
, and "Tolkien's Tale Bears Ring of Truth"/"Rings Runs Circles Around Rowling" by Steve Bonta in the January 28, 2002 issue). What do those subjects have to do with a political magazine? Kinkade's chain work nauseates us with all his sweetness and light Noun 1. sweetness and light - a mild reasonableness; "when he learned who I was he became all sweetness and light"
affability, affableness, amiableness, bonhomie, geniality, amiability - a disposition to be friendly and approachable (easy to talk to)
, which he cranks out by the thousands. His is not art work; what he does is manufacturing or assembly line work. I doubt very much that his intent is to send a Christian message; his intent is to make moolah, and lots of it. Of course, there is nothing wrong with wanting to make money, but don't lead us to believe that the man is solely interested in the salvation of souls.

As for Harry Potter's Rowling, the woman has never pretended pre·tend·ed
adj.
1. Not genuine or sincere; feigned: a pretended interest in the proceedings.

2. Supposed; alleged: the pretended heir to the throne.
to be another Tolkien. She wrote to entertain, and she is doing that extremely well. I am glad she is happy and successful. I have enjoyed her books and the movie. I wish I could say the same about the film TLOTR TLOTR The Lord of the Rings (Tolkien book/movie) . It was too violent and too long. We were relieved when it finally ended. Although the special effects special effects, in motion pictures, cinematographic techniques that create illusions in the audience's minds as well as the illusions created using these techniques.  were awesome, some scenes were downright scary so that our nine-year-old grandson hid his face against my shoulder. You cannot compare apples and oranges, and we enjoyed Harry Potter much more than TLOTR. To each his own taste. And again, what do those articles have to do with the goals of TNA? What a waste of time and paper!
