Kingwood Women's Club 10th Annual Holiday Marketplace & Preview Party.

HOUSTON -- Holiday time is in the air for the over 100 members of the Kingwood Women's Club. These ladies are busy putting the finishing touches on their plans and decorations for the 10th Annual Holiday Marketplace, luncheon and Preview Party. The Marketplace and luncheon will be held again this year at the Humble Civic Center on Will Clayton Parkway on Tuesday, November 7th from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. This festive holiday event has become very well known over the years and is a great way to kick off the holiday season.

A Preview Party will be held on Monday evening, November 6th from 7:00 p.m. till 9:30 p.m. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served to shoppers.

Over 90 vendors from Texas and across the US will be available with unique home decor, holiday decorations, handmade santas, food items, jewelry, one of a kind clothing, handmade purses, garden decorations and so much more! There's something for everyone, and this is a great place to begin and even finish your holiday shopping!

Mike Molinar, Manager of Carrabba's of Kingwood, has agreed again to cater the delicious holiday luncheon on Tuesday, November 7th. Women's Club members will serve guests in a lovely holiday theme setting. Being served is Pollo Rosa Maria, pasta, salad, bread, dessert, tea and coffee. The luncheon is a great way to take a break during your holiday shopping and visit. Many ladies make this a yearly event with their friends.

If you can't stand the thought of losing shopping time, there's a snack shop just for you! Hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, cookies and other snacks will be available to keep you going.

"Diamonds are a girl's best friend." Thomas Markle has generously donated a $2,000 diamond necklace to be raffled. Many other wonderful items such as theatre tickets, dinners, hotel stays, decorator items and more have been donated for the raffle by generous local businesses and individuals.

Proceeds from the Holiday Marketplace and Preview Party will be donated to local charities. Since its inception in 1985, the Kingwood Women's Club has donated in excess of $350,000 to organizations in the Kingwood and Humble area. Project Mammogram is a project started in 2001 by a $5000 donation from Kingwood Women's Club to the Northeast Hospital Foundation. This program provides mammogram services for women who have no insurance or whose incomes are not low enough to qualify for Medicaid. Kingwood Women's Club members also support this project by providing volunteer assistance. KWC has donated over $52,000 to Project Mammogram to date.

In addition to Project Mammogram, other regular recipients of funds raised at the Holiday Marketplace include Society of St. Stephen, HAAM, Family Time, Friends of the Library (FOLK), the Mission, Feed My Lambs, and the Kingwood Pines Hospital adolescent ward. Scholarships are also provided for students at Kingwood College.

Tickets for the Preview Party are $20 and will be sold in advance only through October 31. Tickets for the Holiday Marketplace and luncheon are $25.
