Kings Wood project gets o.k. for sewer extension.

Queensmead Associates, the development partnership of Trafalgar House Real Estate and Competrol Real Estate Ltd., have received final permission for a $1.8 million sewer extension to support their proposed 720,000-square-foot Kings Wood office complex on King Street (Route 120)in Armonk, New York.

This permission complies with the recent adoption of a new public sewer district by the Town of North Castle and the Westchester County Board of Legislators. The project will bring public sewer service not only to Kings Wood but to a number of neighboring corporations including MBIA, Primerica, Aerotech and Benerofe Properties. The sewer extension will include 12,000 linear feet of new sewer pipe and three pump stations. It will connect all the office developments on King Street in Armonk to the Blind Brook Sewage Treatment Plant in Rye. The provision of this public sewer system will allow both existing and future commercial and residential users to cease septic treatment and groundwater discharge within the New York City watershed.

Sponsored by Queensmead Associates, and managed by Trafalgar House Real Estate, construction will begin in June with costs shared between benefiting landowners. This will mark the start of the construction phase of the Kings Wood Corporate Center development.

"Both municipal and county officials have been instrumental in moving the project from concept to reality," said Steven A. Kohn, Trafalgar House President," Joe Delfino, a County Board Legislator; Jack Lombardi, the North Castle Supervisor and Piers Curry, the Planning Board Chairman all worked diligently to develop a sewer service plan which benefits not only the area landowners and residents but the Town of North Castle and the New York City reservoir water quality."

Trafalgar House Real Estate (THRE) is the U.S. commercial real estate arm of Trafalgar House PLC, one of the largest construction and engineering concerns in the U.K. THRE can be traded on the NYSE by the American Depository Receipt (ADR) system through Morgan Guaranty Trust.
