The sanctuary of First Baptist Church, Hazlehurst, was the)August 4, 2001, setting of the afternoon we of Cecilia Rebecca King and Anthony Prince Roberts.

At the chiming of the hour, the bride was escorted to her grandfather, Billy Price Strait, by Benjamin Chapman, cousin of the bride, from Tulsa, Oklahoma. The bride is the daughter of Becky King Howard of Pearl. The groom is the son of Tommy and Judy Roberts of Waynesboro. The bride's grandparents are Billy and Doris Strait of Hazlehurst. The groom's grandparents are Mildred Pitts and the late Jack Pitts, and E. S. "Prince" Roberts and the late Margie Roberts, all of Waynesboro.

Emily Lambert Gibson of Starkville was maid of honor. Matron of honor was Jeannette Smith Wicker of Oxford. Bridesmaids were Alice Caroline Bryant of Oxford; Tommie Suzanne Johnson of Germantown, Tennessee; Ashley Ann MacArthur of Gulfport; Kellie Whittington Wier of Greenwood; and Memory Michelle Nix of Jackson. They were ballet pink peau de sole satin dresses with slim floor-length skirts . The bodices featured square necklines with matching beaded bands around the midriffs and across the open backs. Each attendant carried a bouquet of Tineke white roses tied with ivory satin ribbon. The bride's proxy was Katherine Ann Bryant of Oxford.

The bride was radiant in a strapless ivory matte satin gown with a basque front, back waistline, and box-pleated floor-length skirt with chapel train. The entire bodice was embellished with blizzard beading and featured a wide band of beading at the top. A bouquet of fifty Liva pink roses tied with ivory satin ribbon was carried by the bride. Her only jewelry was a solitaire diamond necklace accented with solitaire diamond earrings, gifts to the bride at age eleven by her great-grandfather and namesake, the late W. Cecil King of Midland, Texas.

Tommy Eugene Roberts, Jr. of Waynesboro, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen included Micah Brent Freeman of Waynesboro; Joseph Hutson Hatten of Gulfport; Robert Lee McClure of Ridgeland; Samuel Mark Pitts and Russell Dewon Pitts, both of Waynesboro; and Russell Davidson Whitehead of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Following a honeymoon to Ocho Rios and Negril, the bride and groom are at home in Meridian.
