for the semiconductor industry, today announced that KYEC, Hsin Chu, Taiwan, has qualified the Electroglas EG6000 for production probing of 300mm wafers on the first of a multi-ATE tester platform evaluation. This decision followed an extended production trial and was based upon the superior technology, performance, and cost of ownership of the EG6000.

Mark Chou, Director, Logic and Mx CP Division, KYEC, said, "The EG6000 has met all expectations and was quickly qualified for production use during the first phase of an extensive multi-ATE tester platform evaluation. We are extremely pleased with the production results from the EG6000 and thus the immediate production qualification of the tool on the first of several ATE platforms used at KYEC. Given the results of the extended evaluation on the initial ATE tool set, we anticipate that the EG6000 will advance through the remaining tester platforms with similar results."
