King Nelson Joins Kerberos as President and CEO.

CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Kerberos Proximal Solutions Inc. is pleased to announce that King Nelson has joined the company as president and CEO. He joins Kerberos with more than 25 years of experience in the life sciences and medical device industry. He served in management positions at American Hospital Supply, Baxter Healthcare and VenPro Corp., most recently as CEO and president of VenPro.

"The founders, employees and board of directors have done a fantastic job of developing the Rinspiration(TM) System product and technology and I look forward to the opportunity to commercialize it," Nelson said.

Kerberos is currently marketing its initial Rinspiration System, a single-use disposable catheter delivering optimal aspiration by combining rinsing and aspiration in the coronary and peripheral vasculature.

"The catheter is presently my front-line tool in the AMI patient. It sets up quickly and gives me the perfusion and visualization I am looking for prior to stenting," noted William O'Neill, M.D., corporate chief of cardiovascular disease at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Mich.

The clinical performance of the product is being quantified in numerous serial registries using ST resolution as primary endpoint. Mitch Krucoff, M.D., director of the ECG Core Laboratory at Duke Clinical Research Institute in Durham, N.C., added, "While definitive studies still need to be done, results consistent with their performance to date would strongly suggest that turbulence-assisted aspiration may hold promise to provide a safe and effective adjunct to direct PCI for acute MI intervention."

The Rinspiration System is cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for coronary and peripheral use. While the product is approved for broad coronary usage, the initial physician interest has been in its use for as a tool for acute patients.
