Kindred Healthcare Announces 28 of Its Nursing Centers Are Recipients of the 2006 AHCA Quality Award.

: KND) today announced that 28 of its nursing centers have been named recipients of the 2006 American Health Care Association The American Health Care Association (AHCA) is non-profit federation of affiliated state health organizations, together representing more than 10,000 non-profit and for-profit assisted living, nursing facility, developmentally-disabled, and subacute care providers that care for  (eIuAHCAeIN) Step I Quality Award for demonstrating a strong commitment to quality improvement. A national presentation for award recipients was recently held during AHCAeIUs Annual Convention and Exposition in San Antonio.

There are approximately 16,000 nursing centers in the United States. There were a total of 426 applications for the 2006 Quality Awards and 104 long-term care facilities in 29 states were named as recipients. Kindred Healthcare earned the largest number of Quality Awards of any nursing home company in the country.
