Keystone Mercy Health Plan, Three Rivers Health Plans to Implement Facets Software Solution From IMS HEALTH's Erisco Managed Care Technologies Unit.
Marks Erisco's Entry Into High-Growth Medicaid Marketplace
IMS HEALTH (NYSE:RX) today announced that its Erisco Managed Care Technologies unit, a leading provider of software-based business solutions for managed care payer organizations, has signed two major Medicaid clients to its expanding customer roster for Facets(R), Erisco's client/server solution for payer managed care administration. The addition of Keystone Mercy Health Plan and Three Rivers Health Plans represents a breakthrough for Erisco as it extends Facets into the high-growth Medicaid marketplace. IMS HEALTH is the world's leading provider of information solutions to the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries.
"Our customer growth and claims processing needs have far outpaced our existing managed care information technology system," said Keystone Mercy CIO Bill Jones. "Facets is a technologically advanced system that is flexible and scalable enough to handle our needs."
With a customer base of nearly 650,000 across Kentucky, Texas, Missouri, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Keystone Mercy expects to serve more than a million members within the next few years.
Just three years old with more than 100,000 members, Three Rivers is also looking to keep pace with the demands of rapid growth. "Three Rivers is experiencing an exponential increase in membership and we need a system that could grow with us," said Three Rivers CIO Dave Heitman. "Facets offers us the flexibility to handle the unexpected developments that go hand-in-hand with an expanding market."
Keystone Mercy selected Facets from a field of three competitive vendors because of its open architecture, ease of use, and Erisco's customer support. "Erisco displayed the stability, technological expertise and forward thinking that we were looking for in an IT partner," said Jones.
Three Rivers' Heitman cited Erisco's expertise in the managed care marketplace. "In our analysis of competitive systems, we found that Facets best met the needs of the Medicaid population," he said. "A defining characteristic was the depth and breadth of Erisco's implementation consulting, technical assistance, and business-related product support."
"The Medicaid field, much like the rest of the healthcare industry, is experiencing rapid growth," said James Donnelly, assistant vice president of marketing and product strategy at Erisco. "Facets will enable these new clients to more easily manage their expanding member and provider relationships, and achieve greater administrative efficiency."
Donnelly added that Keystone Mercy and Three Rivers are both replacing outdated legacy systems and will use all modules of the Facets system, including claims and utilization management, capitation and case management.
In addition to Keystone Mercy and Three Rivers, Erisco recently has added five other MCOs to its Facets customer roster: BJC Health Systems of St. Louis, Missouri; Boilermakers National Funds of Kansas City, Kansas; Behavioral Health Services, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota; PSO Partners of Scranton, Pennsylvania; and HealthCare Plan of Buffalo, New York.
Keystone Mercy Health Plan, the largest Medicaid managed care plan in Pennsylvania and the largest multi-state MCO in the country, is a joint venture between Mercy Health System and Independence Blue Cross' Keystone Health Plan East. Keystone Mercy Health Plan's mission is to provide accessible, quality health care services to its members with a special concern for the poor and disadvantaged.
Since April 1, 1996, Three Rivers Health Plans has quickly established a superior reputation for customer service to all its customer sets, including members and contracted hospitals, physicians, and other providers.
