Service Networks Fall 2002

GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 17, 2002

With wireline telecom provider capital expenditure stalled, and regional Bell telephone companies lobbying Congress to repeal line-sharing provisions of the 1996 Telecom Reform Act, an increasing number of Internet service providers have begun to use unlicensed wireless spectrum to bridge the bandwidth gap in the last mile.

A keynote panel will focus on this theme at SERVICE NETWORKS/ISPCON, being held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, November 5-7, 2002.

With the slowing of growth of last-mile high-speed Internet deployment, service providers are also exploring ways to use unlicensed radio spectrum to deliver high-speed Internet access at the last mile. This will be the focus of Thursday's keynote panel on November 7, 2002, from 10:00a.m. - 11:00a.m. "WISPs: Alive and Kicking alive and vigorously active.
