KeyTrak Gets To The Heart Of Key Control.

Business Editors

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 11, 2000

New KeyTrak product provides key control, minus the PC

KeyTrak(R), Inc. introduces KeyTrak EZ, the latest development in key and asset control, at the American Society of Industrial Security (ASIS 1. ASIS - Application Software Installation Server.
2. (language) ASIS - Ada Semantic Interface Specification.
) tradeshow in Orlando, Fla.

KeyTrak, Inc., has become well known for the advanced key control systems they have created over the past decade. With features such as work order creation, individual key issue, location inventory, recording number of key copies, and the added security of biometric readers, KeyTrak PC based key control systems have positioned themselves as the flagship in the industry. While several companies want to have the ease-of-use and the security of a KeyTrak system, many do not need the additional features of a PC based system. KeyTrak has developed a novel concept that gives these customers the opportunity to buy a smaller system that provides the heart of key control without the additional enhancements.

With just 20 buttons and a small screen built in one unit, the EZ system requires less space than the KeyTrak PC systems. The small system, the size of a textbook, connects to the locking steel drawer that houses keys and assets. Using a semiconductor fob and/or password, a user may access the steel drawer to obtain the needed key. The system, based on technology patented by KeyTrak, records which key is taken, when that key is removed, why the key was removed, and who has removed the key.

KeyTrak EZ requires minimal installation and training time. Users can learn to access keys in just minutes. William Maloney Dr William Robert Nuttal Maloney (12 April 1854 - 29 August 1940) was a long serving Australian Labor Party Member of the Australian House of Representatives.

Born into a wealthy family in West Melbourne, Maloney was educated in the Melbourne private school system, the
, Vice President of Research and Development, said, "KeyTrak EZ is as easy to use as an ATM machine (Automatic Teller Machine machine) A banking terminal that accepts deposits and dispenses cash. ATMs are activated by inserting a cash or credit card that contains the user's account number and PIN on a magnetic stripe. , or an office copier."

EZ is aimed at the customer who will only need to check keys in and out. The system is small enough to accommodate customers with very limited office space. Reports may be viewed on the two-line display screen, sent to a printer, or transferred to a PC if needed.

"EZ is a passive data collector, doing all of the work for the user without him even knowing it," said Maloney. Because KeyTrak EZ is primarily numeric based, it easily overcomes the language barrier that other key control systems encounter.
