ASHBURN, Va. -- Security Solutions 2007, the must-attend event of the year for Military and Federal IT security professionals, will kick off April 2 with a keynote address by Maj. Gen. William T. Lord, Director, Information, Services and Integration, Secretary of the Air Force Office of Warfighting Integration and Chief Information Officer, the Pentagon.

Attendees of the three-day event in Tampa, Fla., will also hear from such luminaries as Maj. Gen. John W. Maluda, Vice Commander, 8th Air Force, Barksdale Air Force Base, La., Brig. Gen. Paul F. Capasso, Commander, 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., and Brig. Gen.(s) Gregory L. Brundidge, Director of Communications and Information, Air Combat Command (ACC A6), Langley AFB, Va.

As keynote speaker, General Lord opens the conference with a focus on issues most critical to security professionals today. A key player in the planning and implementation of the Air Force's global enterprise network, General Lord is responsible for synchronizing the Air Force's communications architectures and IT portfolio with the Global Grid. His efforts have also been critical to the Air Force's plan to professionalize its network crew force.

Prior to his current assignment, General Lord's roles have included Commander, 81st Training Wing, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., and Director of Communications and Information at the Air Mobility Command Headquarters, Scott Air Force Base, Ill. He is a 1977 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and holds a bachelor's degree in biological and life sciences, and master's degrees in business administration and national resource strategy. General Lord held various duties with tours in Europe, U.S. Central Command and the White House. He has commanded at the detachment, squadron, group, wing and joint levels.
