Key Digital Systems Introduces HD Explorer HDMI Video Card for Pioneer 43'' and 50'' CMX Plasma Displays.


MT. VERNON, N.Y. -- KEY DIGITAL SYSTEMS, Inc. launches the HD Explorer HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) A digital interface for audio and video signals designed as a single-cable solution for home theater and consumer electronics equipment.  Video Card featuring an integrated digital video scaler for Pioneer's Plasma Displays. The HD Explorer offers an all-digital video signal path, via its four HDMI inputs. Additionally, virtually any Component Video, RGB, Composite Video and S-Video source can be accommodated and scaled to the native resolution of the Pioneer Display. The Card's output is directly interfaced to the plasma through an internal digital RGB connection for the highest quality video image. The HD Explorer can also accept analog and digital audio inputs See S/PDIF and Toslink. , and can output both audio formats to a surround sound system.

The HD Explorer Card will scale all popular HDTV (High Definition TV) A set of digital television (DTV) standards that offer the highest resolution and sharpest picture. The HD Explorer Card includes numerous adjustments for Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, Tint, Horizontal and Vertical Position and Size, Aspect Ratio Conversion, Lip Sync Delay Compensation, Volume, Digital Edge Enhancement, and RGB Calibration Levels. These adjustments are individually set for each input by using the supplied remote control, on-screen display or via Pioneer's RS232 port. This port allows the card to work with commercial/ home automation systems such as Crestron.

The HD Explorer Card has a suggested list price of $1,595 and will ship spring of 2005.
