and Dana Brunetti today announced that TriggerStreet.com, positioned to become the Web-based filmmakers' and screenwriters' community of record by showcasing new talent and sharing and critiquing original short films, is launching today with an exclusive showcase of short films on Yahoo! Movies (movies.yahoo.com). The hosting, streaming and encoding services and technology for TriggerStreet.com are provided by RealNetworks(R), Inc. (Nasdaq: RNWK RNWK Real Networks (stock symbol) ), and users will be able to view content within the TriggerStreet.com community via the RealOne(TM) Player. Budweiser is TriggerStreet.com's presenting sponsor. The Yahoo! Movies feature highlights original material by filmmakers before they were established within the industry and interviews with celebrities including Mike Myers, Sean Penn, Edward Norton, Billy Crystal and Bono on mentorship and the people who helped them break into the entertainment industry.

TriggerStreet Productions was formed in 1997 with a mission to encourage the creative process of filmmaking and to establish a broad platform for undiscovered talent. TriggerStreet is named after an actual street in the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

once owned a ranch on the land and named the street for his horse Trigger. When Spacey was forming his production company, the dreams he had as a teenager were ones he didn't want to wander too far from and so TriggerStreet was created.

"I want to try to do something inspiring and interactive for new talent and for the filmmaking community," said Kevin Spacey. "Our goal is to give encouragement and visibility to artists who have no access to the industry. When I needed help in starting my own career, many people gave me encouragement and became my mentors. Now I feel that if you have done well in whatever business you are in, it is your duty to send the elevator back down and try to help bring up the next generation of undiscovered talent."

TriggerStreet.com gathers filmmakers and film aficionados together in the virtual space to ensure that independent and under-financed works will find a wider audience. Novice and veteran screenwriters are invited to submit screenplays to the Screenplay Forum for review by their peers. Also, three times a year, TriggerStreet.com will sponsor a Short Film Festival with 10 finalists culled from the top-rated short films submitted to the site. Those finalists will be judged by entertainment industry leaders including Bono, Mike Myers, Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, Edward Norton, Danny DeVito Daniel Michael DeVito Jr. (born November 17, 1944) is an Emmy Award-winning American actor, director, and an Oscar-nominated producer, who first gained prominence for his portrayal of "Louie De Palma" on the popular ABC and NBC TV series Taxi (1978–1983).  and many others.

"We are using the Internet for which it was created -- a tool to communicate," said Dana Brunetti, president and co-founder of TriggerStreet.com and TriggerStreet Productions producer. "No longer will you need to 'know' somebody to get a foot in Hollywood's door. We are offering a chance for exposure and access for filmmakers and screenwriters to showcase their talent from anywhere, while at the same time giving everyone the ability to view and judge the submitted work. It's a chance for the talent and great ideas to be discovered by all."
