Kenati Technologies Launches Its NP(TM) Platforms Solution on Freescale's New MPC8323E PowerQUICC(TM) II Pro Processor Family.

Kenati Technologies announced the release of its NP suite of Platforms running on Freescale's MPC8323E PowerQUICC(TM) II Pro family of integrated communications processors containing a PowerPC(R) core. The MPC8323E processor family is designed to deliver higher CPU performance, newer functionality and faster interfaces for the digital home and SOHO markets. The MPC8323E integrates an e300 PowerPC core with a single-RISC core version of QUICC Engine(TM) technology that supports a wide range of protocols including ATM, Ethernet, TDM and HDLC.

Kenati's NP platform leverages the QUICC Engine communications capability to ensure rapid development and flexibility to accommodate new standards and evolving system requirements. In addition, the NP platform supports the MPC8323E's integrated security engine to provide hardware acceleration for the DES, 3DES, AES, SHA-1 and MD-5 algorithms. The combined solution makes it suitable for a wide variety of network communication applications such as SOHO routers, residential gateways and VPN routers.

Kenati has a longstanding relationship with Freescale and offers extensive support for its entire line of PowerQUICC processors. Kenati supports the entire PowerQUICC line of processors including PowerQUICC I, PowerQUICC II and PowerQUICC III processors. On the MPC8248, Kenati's NP VPN achieved industry-leading packet performance numbers of more than 20,000 packets per second for IPSec Forwarding. Each of these processors has been used in a broad range of home networking applications and solutions in the field.
