In fact, when Lamb recently found out he had been named "Supplier Tradesman of the Year" by the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers (CANGC), he kept the good news to himself for a couple weeks before telling his co-workers at Kellogg Garden Products.

"He's very humble and modest about himself," said Todd Slinde, Rex's supervisor and district manager for the Central Valley, San Francisco San Francisco (săn frănsĭs`kō), city (1990 pop. 723,959), coextensive with San Francisco co., W Calif., on the tip of a peninsula between the Pacific Ocean and San Francisco Bay, which are connected by the strait known as the Golden  and Sacramento, Calif. territories for Kellogg Garden Products. "Rex is more proud about what this award means for the company than to him personally."

Lamb will receive the honor at an awards luncheon Thursday, June 17, during the CANGC annual legislative meeting in Sacramento. The "Supplier Tradesman of the Year" award is presented annually to a salesperson who maintains professional standards and renders service to nursery customers that is extraordinary and beneficial.
