Companies Present Proposal to ANSI T-11 Committee for

Management of Security Information in SAN Fabric

Kasten Chase (TSX:KCA), a leading provider of high-assurance data security solutions, announced today that they are working with Brocade (Nasdaq:BRCD), the world's leading provider of infrastructure for Storage Area Networks (SANs), to present their joint recommendations for management of security information in SAN fabrics, in a paper to be delivered to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) T-11 Committee's Security Working Group. This represents a collaborative effort to advance security solutions for networked storage environments.

The Security Working Group is charged with defining new standards for information security within the storage industry. The paper is being presented at the ANSI T-11 Committee meeting taking place in Seattle, WA from August 5 - 9, 2002. Both Kasten Chase and Brocade anticipate that the recommendations will further their common objective - to make high-assurance data security integral to SANs.
