Kanpur--The All India Catholic Union (AICU) applauded a decision by the Indian Supreme Court to order the protection of witnesses in trials.


Kanpur -- The All India All India is a phrase used to refer the all the states/regions of India together, esp. during the pre-independence days of India. ) applauded a decision by the Indian Supreme Court to order the protection of witnesses in trials of Hindus who attacked Muslims in the spring of 2003.

The AICU also drew attention to the hundreds of cases of abuse against Christians, noting that Christian communities suffered more than 600 attacks in 2003 alone. Catholic organizations report a case of violence every 36 hours, including attacks on churches, Bible burning, attacks against converts, and even murders.
