Kaleida names John Cummerford vice president and general counsel.


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 11, 1995--Kaleida Labs Tuesday announced the appointment of John E. Cummerford to vice president and general counsel.

In this capacity, Cummerford will advise Kaleida on all legal issues and will be secretary of the board of directors.

Cummerford was vice president and general counsel at Candle Corp. and has 12 years of corporate experience, specializing in computer law; software development, acquisition and financing; litigation An action brought in court to enforce a particular right. Prior to his position at Candle, Cummerford served as legal counsel for both IBM (International Business Machines Corporation, Armonk, NY, www.ibm.com) The world's largest computer company. IBM's product lines include the S/390 mainframes (zSeries), AS/400 midrange business systems (iSeries), RS/6000 workstations and servers (pSeries), Intel-based servers (xSeries)  and its subsidiary, Integrated Systems Solutions Corp.

Cummerford, a graduate of Columbia Law School Columbia Law School, located in the New York City borough of Manhattan, is one of the professional schools of Columbia University, a member of the Ivy League, and one of the leading law schools in the United States. , is a member of the California State and New York State Bar Associations The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA), with about 72,000 members, is the largest voluntary association of lawyers in the United States. The NYSBA was founded in Albany on November 21 1876. New York lacks an integrated bar, and the NYSBA does not license lawyers in the state. , as well as the Computer Law Association.
