Kaixing innovates acetylene process.

According to Xindu Kaixing Sci-Tech Company Limited (Kaixing), headquartered in Chengdu, Sichuan province of southwestern China Dec 24th, 2007, a 36 [m.sup.3]/h completed industrialized in·dus·tri·al·ize

test facility using the new dry process routine of producing acetylene acetylene (əsĕt`əlēn') or ethyne (ĕth`īn), HC≡CH, a colorless gas. It melts at −80.8°C; and boils at −84.0°C;.  from calcium carbide developed by the company itself has been constructed and succeeded in wet commissioning. At present, Kaixing is preparing to construct a 360 [m.sup.3]/h dry process acetylene production line with other partners together.

The test facility that experienced frequently wet commissioning shows the following results. The utilization ratio of water in reaction and vaporization vaporization, change of a liquid or solid substance to a gas or vapor. There is fundamentally no difference between the terms gas and vapor, but gas is used commonly to describe a substance that appears in the gaseous state under standard conditions of  is close to 100%. The content of acetylene in product is higher than 98.5%. The yield of acetylene is more than 98%. The main byproduct is powdery pow·der·y
adj.
1. Composed of or similar to powder.

2. Dusted or covered with or as if with powder.

3. Easily made into powder; friable.

Adj. 1.
calcium carbide slag whose moisture content is less than 8%, has a particle size of less than 0.6 mm and a content of acetylene of less than 0.04%. These indexes indicate that this innovative technology realized new breakthrough in dry process of producing acetylene domestically and brought new channels for saving energy and reducing pollution in the PVC PVC: see polyvinyl chloride.

 industry.

Dry process technology of producing acetylene has been included in the Environmental Protection Technology Catalogue Encouraged by the State by means of its obvious advantages in energy-saving, water-saving, environmental protection and calcium carbide slag recycling.
