Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand prepares for its centenary.

 Tiaki Nursing New Zealand New Zealand (zē`lənd), island country (2005 est. pop. 4,035,000), 104,454 sq mi (270,534 sq km), in the S Pacific Ocean, over 1,000 mi (1,600 km) SE of Australia. The capital is Wellington; the largest city and leading port is Auckland.  will celebrate its centenary in January January: see month.  next year and to mark this milestone is announcing two prestigious centennial awards, each valued at $2000. Recruitment company Nurse at Call is sponsoring a 4000-word report on a contemporary clinical research study, and Healthstaff Recruitment is sponsoring a 2000-word essay on the importance of writing for publication.

The winning entries will be published in the special centennial edition of Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand, which will be a high-quality production honouring the magazine's role in recording NZNA/NZNO, nursing and social history. Co-editors Anne Anne, British princess
Anne (Anne Elizabeth Alice Louise), 1950–, British princess, only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, duke of Edinburgh. She was educated at Benenden School.
 Manchester and Teresa O'Connor urged nurses to support the awards, entries for which close on September 30. "These are major awards to mark a significant milestone in New Zealand's nursing history, and we are very grateful to the sponsors," they said.

The special centennial edition of Kai Tiaki Nursing New Zealand will be delivered to all NZNO NZNO New Zealand Nurses Organisation  members, and will also be available for purchase. "We are intent on producing a valuable, enduring, high-quality publication that will capture something of the evolution of our profession and our society," Manchester and O'Connor said.
