KWKW TO BE HONORED WITH A PROCLAMATION FROM MAYOR TOM BRADLEY, MARCH 19

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- KWKW, Southern California's oldest Spanish language radio station will be honored with a proclamation from Mayor Tom Bradley on Friday, March 19, at 10:30 a.m. for 50 years of service to the Hispanic community.
KWKW, 1330 AM, La Mexicana, the first full-time Spanish language radio station in Southern California has provided a half century of news and community service programs designed to respond to the needs of Hispanic people, as well as the music and entertainment that enables them to maintain their cultural ties and assist them in the transition to U.S. citizenship.
For 50 years, KWKW has been, and continues to be, the most meaningful source of information for Southern California's Spanish- speaking population and it is this reason that Mayor Bradley has issued this proclamation, according to Jim Kalmenson, vice president and general manager of the station.
