 KVB/ANALECT WINS $7 MILLION
CLEAN AIR ACT MONITORING AWARD AT OHIO EDISON
BRANCHBURG, N.J., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- KVB/Analect, a Research-Cottrell company and a subsidiary of Air & Water Technologies (AMEX: AWT), has been awarded a contract by Ohio Edison Company for continuous emissions monitors (CEMs) required under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. The contract is valued at more than $7 million.
KVB/Analect will supply a combination of dilution and fully extractive CEM systems to be installed on 28 boilers at Ohio Edison sites in Burger, Edgewater, New Castle, Niles, Sammis, and Toronto. Also included is the installation of the new KVB Compliance(tm) software -- the first interactive, graphics-based software package for CEMs -- and the KVB Maintenance Reduction Package.
"In addition to monitoring specified pollutants and meeting stringent regulatory requirements, CEMs can serve as indispensable tools for managing emissions credit programs and increasing overall plant operating efficiency," said Donald A. Deieso, president and CEO of Research-Cottrell. "Compliance(tm) enables clients to look at CEMs as environmental and process information management investments rather than simply as expensive equipment."
The subsidiaries of Research-Cottrell -- Air Pollution Control Division, Custodis, Ecodyne Cooling Tower Services, Flex-Kleen, KVB/Analect, R-C Environmental Services & Technologies, R-C Europe, and REECO -- provide the expertise, technology and services to comprehensively solve any air or thermal pollution problem. Air & Water Technologies, through its operating units -- Metcalf & Eddy, Research-Cottrell, and Residuals Management -- provides a broad range of environmental services and technologies in the areas of water resource management, air pollution control, and waste by-product disposal and reuse. The company's AWT Capital group provides services relating to the financing of environmental facilities and systems.
