KUWAIT - The KPC Board Of Directors.

Members on KPC's board of directors have a three-year term. The current board was approved by the council of ministers in August 2004. Its main members are the following:

Shaikh Ahmad Al-Fahd Al-Sabah, the energy minister and KPC chairman since he replaced Subaih in February 2002

Hani Abdel Aziz Hussain, who in August 2004 succeeded Nader Sultan, as deputy chairman and CEO of KPC;

Sami Al-Rushaid, managing director for refining and local marketing at KPC, and chairman/CEO of Kuwait National Petroleum Co. (KNPC), the local refining arm of KPC.

Farouq Al-Zanki, managing director for exploration and production and chairman/CEO of Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC).

Ahmad Al Arbeed, managing director for Project Kuwait, and chairman/CEO-designate of a new company which will manage the four northern oilfields.

Abdullah Hamad Al Roumi, managing director for transportation, and chairman/CEO of Kuwait Oil Tankers Co. (KOTC);

Jamal Al-Nouri, managing director for international marketing.

Abdel Hadi Al-Awwad, chairman/CEO of Kuwait Gulf Oil Company (KGOC), also responsible for offshore E&P and the Divided Zone.

The energy and finance ministries function according to the general orientations of the formal layer of authority, notably the cabinet, the SPC and the Supreme Council of Planning, all now headed by Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad. They also function according to the specific guidelines of the Emir's informal layer, which is controlled by the Bani Jabir shaikhs.
