KUWAIT - Jan. 14 - Bourse Falls To New Low.

The Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) index loses 4.2 points to close at 1,318.2, its lowest level since November 1995. The index has already shed 2.2% since the start of 2001, and it now stands 53.5% below its high reached in November 1997. "I don't see many economic factors depressing the market", says Marwan Gharaballi of Global Investment House. "It's psychological". (Rumours, supported by press reports, have been rife about an imminent change in the government that is likely to affect key posts).
