International of Adrian, Michigan Adrian is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 21,574. It is the county seat of Lenawee County6. Description , has selected KUKA Robotics to provide robots for its new Palligistics system, an intelligent palletizing logistics work cell concept for creating mixed product or build to order pallets.

"Customer's are ordering smaller quantities of a variety of products in order to keep inventory costs low, and AIDCO's Palligistics system with the KUKA KR 240 robot gives the manufacturers the ability to custom fill those orders with mixed pallets," said Joe Campbell, director of strategic alliances for KUKA Robotics Corporation. "As manufacturers adapt to their customers' needs, mixed load pallet building emerges as one of the most efficient technologies companies can embrace."

"Having the capability to accept and fulfill customer's orders is a necessity that manufacturers and distributors can no longer afford to ignore," said Jeff Hadley, vice president of Engineering Technology for AIDCO International. "With this new system they will not only have that capability but improve the performance and efficiency of their operations."

KUKA's KR 240 unique work envelope enables this 6-axis robot to be used in homogenous homogenous - homogeneous  & mixed palletizing, as well as high-speed conveyor-tracking material handling applications. AIDCO's Palligistics system uses a newly developed, patent-pending AIDCO GripStar CFVC CFVC Cache-Friendly Viewer-Centric  200 end-of-arm-tooling (EOAT EOAT End of Arm Tooling (robotics) ) mounted on the KUKA robot. The CFVC 200 EOAT features a "two-in-one" dual-head design that palletizes or depalletizes SKUs of varying dimensions, handles cases, shrink-wraps containers, trays and crates for a variety of industries, including the food, beverage, chemical, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries.

AIDCO International, in business over 30 years in Adrian, Michigan, focuses on the manufacture and integration of conventional and robotic depalletizing and palletizing, robotic case packing and case stacking/denesting systems for the food, consumer product and beverage industries.
