KTLA-CHANNEL 5 EXPANDS LIVE COVERAGE OF LOS ANGELES PRIMARY ELECTION WITH SPECIAL PRIME-TIME HALF-HOUR

 LOS ANGELES, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- KTLA (Channel 5) News will provide expanded, live coverage of the April 20 municipal elections in Los Angeles and other Southern California cities beginning at 8 p.m. with a one-half hour report on emerging trends in the race for mayor and other city offices.
 On Tuesday, April 20, at 8 p.m., Channel 5 will air "Election Special: L.A. Vote '93," a special half-hour report hosted by Hal Fishman, Jann Carl and Larry McCormick. The special will include latest election returns and live reports from the headquarters of the major candidates. A 90-minute movie is scheduled to follow but news programming will continue beyond 8:30 if developments warrant.
 Live coverage of the election will resume at 10 p.m. in the regular "News at Ten" slot and will continue until the major races are decided.
 Election coverage will resume on Wednesday, April 21, from 7-9 a.m. on "KTLA Morning News" with Carlos Amezcua and Barbara Beck. The "Morning News" team will provide a complete wrap-up of final vote totals and analysis on what the results mean to L.A. residents. The April 21 morning newscast will also feature live, in-studio, the two top mayoral candidates who will face each other in a June run-off.
