KSS is AIA's firm of the year.


The American Institute of Architects The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is a professional organization for architects in the United States. Organized in 1857, the Institute conducts various activities and programs to support the profession and enhance its public image, including periodically awarding the AIA  New Jersey chapter announced that KSS KSS Kearns-Sayre Syndrome

 Architects was presented with the prestigious Firm of the Year Award on Saturday, January 14 at the 2005 AIA AIA - Application Integration Architecture  NJ Awards Dinner.

The firm also received the Merit Award for its design of the Cranbury K-8 School and Intern of the Year Award.

"On behalf of my partners and associates at KSS, we are extremely proud to accept this tremendous honor from our peers," said KSS partner Allan Kehrt. "We take great pride not only in our work, but in creating a culture that rewards creativity, teamwork and professionalism."

 Of the Year Award is given in recognition of major accomplishments in the field of architecture. The award, which KSS also won in 2002, is based on professional, technical and community accomplishments.

The 30,000 s/f addition to the Cranbury K-8 School earned KSS the AIA's Merit Award for its design and functionality, making it the first built public school project to earn the award in more than 10 years. Complete with a new public lobby, eight new classrooms, administrative spaces, gymnasium and wireless data connections, the School is efficient in design and security.

 Aboujaoude, of KSS, was honored with the Intern Architect of the Year Award. The Intern Architect of the Year Award is given to the individual that has made major accomplishments in the Intern Architect Program.
