KROGER SELECTS SAVANNAH FOR COUPON RESEARCH
KROGER SELECTS SAVANNAH FOR COUPON RESEARCH ATLANTA, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Kroger Co., one of the largest
food retailers in the U.S., announced that Savannah, Ga., has been selected as a site for market research into the popularity of grocery store coupons.
"The results of the research will be analyzed and shared with national manufacturers. It will be utilized with data from other key markets to determine the future use of coupon marketing strategy here and elsewhere," according to Steve Young, Kroger Savannah Zone Manager. In addition to measuring the volume of coupons redeemed during the research project, Kroger will also interpret customer interviews which will be conducted in each store. "We chose Savannah for this market study because Kroger is extremely committed to this area but also because our stores attract an even cross-section of customers in most socioeconomic categories," Young stated. "Starting Monday, November 18, 14 Savannah-area Kroger stores will offer triple manufacturer's coupons to all customers. Although an exact time frame has not been established for the triple coupon offer, other markets in the Kroger organization have limited their promotions to one week. Those markets which have already conducted triple coupon programs all report extremely favorable consumer acceptance," according to Young. -0- 11/18/91 /CONTACT: Steve Young, Kroger Savannah Zone Manager, 912-353-9334/ CO: Kroger Company ST: Georgia IN: REA SU: BN-BR -- AT002 -- 1271 11/18/91 09:25 EST
