 KPMG PEAT MARWICK ADMITS 71 NEW PARTNERS;
 CLIENT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE CITED
 NEW YORK, July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- KPMG Peat Marwick has admitted 71 new partners into the firm bringing the total partnership to 1,494. While each of the new partners is skilled along the traditional technical lines of audit, tax and management consulting, members of the new partner class, for the second consecutive year, have been identified according to their experience within experience within specific client industries.
 "Clients naturally assume that a high level of technical competence exists in our firm," explains Jon C. Madonna, KPMG Peat Marwick chairman and CEO. "'Know me and know my business' is the recurring theme in today's marketplace. Whether the person that brings that value added service is an auditor, a tax professional or management consultant is not very important to our clients," Madonna adds. "By focusing on a particular industry, our partners and professionals gain an intensive level of knowledge and understanding that is then used on our clients' behalf."
 Among the key industries represented by the new partners are: financial services; health care; high technology; manufacturing; merchandising; real estate; government services; education and other institutions; transportation; public utilities; media and communications; and food and agribusiness.
 Through 135 offices in the United States, KPMG Peat Marwick provides industry-specific accounting, taxation and consulting services to a broad range of businesses and other organizations in the financial, commercial and service sectors. The worldwide KPMG network has more than 76,000 people operating in 125 countries.
