KPMG Consulting LLC, Lorton, Va., is being awarded a $5,452,511indefinite-quantity with time and material pricing type contract for providing quality assurance and independent verification and validation services to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) and contractors supporting the Business Systems Modernization Program Management Office in support of the implementation of commercial-off-the-shelf software performed by the system integrator and DLA. The chosen package solution is composed of both enterprise resource planning and advanced planning and scheduling software in addition to several current DLA systems(requiring interface development), with the end state being their placement of the current Standard Automated Material Management System and Defense Integrated Subsistence Management System. Work is to be performed at Fort Belvoir, Va., and other DLA field activities (i.e. Richmond, Columbus, etc.) as they become ready for validation. This contract is for a base year with four one-year options. Performance completion date is scheduled for Sept. 30, 2002. Contract funds will expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract is a sole source contract due to the nature of the business and location. The Defense Supply Center, Fort Belvoir, Va., is the contracting activity (SP4700-02-D-0001).
