KOSS PURCHASE COMPLETE; FIRM NOW OWNS TRIO OF AREA RADIO STATIONS.

A Kentucky-based company announced on Wednesday the completion of its acquisition of KOSS-FM, formerly KAVC-FM.

, KAVC-FM carried a religious programming format. The religious programming was shifted to KAVC-AM, while KAVC-FM was renamed KOSS-FM and converted to an adult contemporary format.

Regent acquired country music station KTPI-FM in June from Park Lane of Menlo Park Menlo Park.

Regent Communications was founded in November 1996 to acquire and operate radio stations in small to mid-size markets. In September, Jacor Communications, the nation's third-largest broadcasting system, announced it was acquiring KAVL-FM and KAVS-FM as part of a three-station, $4 million deal.

Jacor owns 214 radio stations in 59 markets.

Regent is not affiliated with Jacor. However, Regent's chairman and chief executive officer Terry S. Jacobs was one of Jacor's founders.
