KORBEL CHAMPAGNE 'STEPPIN' OUT' WITH NEW ARTIST BOTTLE; TONY BENNETT DESIGNS SECOND IN LIMITED EDITION SERIES
Bennett, who enjoys a flourishing career as an artist painting under his family name Benedetto, is the second artist commissioned by Korbel to create a bottle for its limited-edition series. Nicole Miller, one of the nation's foremost fashion designers, created the first bottle in the series, which was launched in January 1995.
The original Tony Bennett design, applied to the bottle through a special baked-enamel process, captures the simple beauty of the Korbel Winery and surrounding vineyards in Sonoma County, Calif. The scenic depiction is surrounded by champagne bubbles and topped off with a rose foil capsule and silver neck label featuring Bennett's signature.
"This limited-edition bottle was a wonderful opportunity for me to share my passion for painting," said Bennett. "I always look for new ways to express myself through my art, and with its classic image, Korbel Champagne seemed like a perfect partnership for me."
The Korbel Brut Rose' Tony Bennett bottle is the ideal gift to add style to a dinner party, birthday celebration or any occasion. Just in time for Valentine's Day, the bottle will be available while quantities last, beginning in mid-January, at retail outlets nationwide for a suggested retail price of $12.99 per bottle.
"Korbel has been part of America's special events and occasions for over a century. Now, we're pleased to partner with one of the most beloved entertainers of all time to create a truly special bottle," said Gary Heck, president and chairman of the board, Korbel Champagne Cellars. "Tony Bennett is the perfect artist to capture the classic style and tradition of Korbel Champagne -- and what better time to offer the romance of champagne and Tony Bennett than Valentine's Day."
In addition, for those who can't get enough of Tony Bennett, Korbel will make available a specially designed Tony Bennett T-shirt, as well as his latest CD, "Here's To the Ladies," an 18-song tribute to some of the greatest female musical artists of all time. These items can be purchased through an order form on in-store displays at all retail outlets where the Tony Bennett Korbel Champagne bottle is sold.
Established in 1882, Korbel Champagne has been producing fine California me'thode champenoise for more than 100 years. Today, Korbel is the best-selling premium champagne in America.
