KONICA INTRODUCES EXTRA GRADE FILM FOR THE AMATEUR PHOTOGRAPHER

ATLANTA, Feb. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Konica U.S.A. introduces Konica Super XG Series Color Print film, which features advanced emulsion technology. This "extra grade" film, available in three film speeds, offers the amateur photographer higher quality images -- saturated colors, smoother gradations, and finer grain -- under a wide range of exposure conditions.
Konica Super XG uses proprietary Konica technology to create an advanced emulsion design. It combines Multi-Structure Crystal and Ultra Clean Crystal Growth manufacturing to create a new Clean Multi-Structure Crystal (C-MSC) foundation for the new film. In addition, the film features Interlayer Development Rate Control to enhance the film during development.
"Konica Super XG Color Print is a revolutionary technological breakthrough in color print film," says Paul Gordon, Konica advertising and marketing manager. "It is clearly the finest film available to the amateur photographic market. Consumers will notice a significant improvement in the image quality of their photographs."
Clean Multi-Structure Crystal technology is a carefully-engineered multi-layer octagonal crystal formation. It is Konica's proprietary technology for forming consistent, highly efficient silver halide crystals, a crucial agent in photographic emulsions.
Konica C-MSC technology, combined with another Konica emulsion design advancement -- Ultra Clean Crystal Growth Technology -- produces this new Super XG Color Print Film. This process prevents the formation of undesirable electron traps in the Multi-Structure Crystals. The result is significantly finer grain, more authentic color reproduction, and razor sharp images, obtained without sacrificing speed.
Konica Super XG film also features Interlayer Development Rate Control technology. This contributes to richer color reproduction and wider exposure latitude by optimizing control over the speed of the three main reactions that occur during development process: development of high speed silver halides; speed of color image formation by high efficiency color couplers during silver development; and the rate at which color precursors inhibit development in other layers during color image formation.
Konica Super XG Color Print Film is available in 100, 200, and 400 speed formats. Additionally, Konica now offers 400 speed film in the popular 220 size format favored by professionals.
