KODAK TO BUILD $26 MILLION WORLDWIDETONER MANUFACTURING FACILITY IN ENGLAND

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE: EK), in conjunction with its subsidiary, Kodak Limited, today announced plans to build a $26 million toner manufacturing facility in the United Kingdom to support its copier products line.
The new toner plant will be located at Kodak's existing chemical manufacturing facility at Knowsley Industrial Park, Merseyside, England. Construction is set to begin this spring. The new facility is expected to increase worldwide production of Kodak toner by approximately 30 percent.
The decision to build on the Knowsley Industrial Park site was led by strong European demand for Kodak copy products. When completed in autumn of 1994, the new facility will produce Kodak's fastest growing line of black toners for copiers and printers sold throughout Europe. Kodak will also produce toner for other equipment manufacturers for use primarily in Europe.
Toner is a fine dry powder used in copiers to produce visible images on paper. Kodak toner is available in several different colors, with black used most heavily for office copying.
Kodak currently produces a complete line of toners at Kodak Park in Rochester, N.Y. The Rochester facility will continue to operate at full capacity to meet both domestic and international demands for toner.
Edgar J. Greco, vice president and worldwide general manager for Office Imaging at Kodak, said, "This investment displays the level of confidence we have in the long-term success of our Office Imaging business".
By locating a new toner production facility in England, Greco said, Kodak is able to position itself strategically to conform with increasing European governmental regulations governing recycling and chemical use.
