KNOGO GAINS CHAIN-WIDE SOURCE IMBEDDING DEAL FROM DUTCH SHOE COMPANY

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Knogo Corporation (NYSE: KNO), a leading manufacturer of E.A.S. (Electronic Article Surveillance) systems, said it received approval from a major Dutch shoe retailer to expand its program of source imbedding on a chain-wide basis.
This follows the successful testing of Knogo's anti-theft system in 45 stores and will now bring the number of installations up to 85. According to Arthur J. Minasy, chairman and CEO, the incremental business is valued at about $3 million in equipment, and $500,000 in yearly strip purchases. "This again underscores the retailers' choice of source imbedding (placing the target in the product) as the ultimate way to protect merchandise," stated Minasy.
In addition to the Dutch shoe company, Knogo has won, within the last three months, major contracts totaling $36 million from two other prestigious shoe distributors in France and Germany.
Knogo Corporation, founder of the E.A.S. industry in 1966, is the world's technological leader in the design and manufacture of asset protection devices. Its radio-frequency (RF) and micro-magnetic (MM) systems protect retail merchandise and business property. Knogo has been dedicated to the concept of source imbedding as an industry standard since its founding as the first E.A.S. company 27 years ago.
Located in Hauppauge, the company also manufactures equipment in Puerto Rico and Belgium. Knogo maintains sales and service facilities across North America, as well as having subsidiaries in more than 13 countries.
