KMART PROMOTES FRANK G. FELICELLA TO PRESIDENT AND CEO OF BUILDERS SQUARE, INC.

 TROY, Mich., Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Kmart Corporation (NYSE: KM) today announced the promotion of Frank G. Felicella, 46, to president and chief executive officer of its subsidiary Builders Square, Inc., succeeding Glen R. Mielke who has retired.
 Since August 1992, Felicella has been president and chief operating officer of Builders Square, Inc. Prior to joining Builders Square, Felicella was executive vice president retail operations for Lechmere, Inc., a privately owned hardlines retailer in New England. His retailing experience also includes positions with Target Stores, Collins and Aikman Wallcovering Group, Korvettes, W.R. Grace and Sears, Roebuck and Company. He has a B.S. degree from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, Conn.
 "Glen Mielke has served Kmart and Builders Square in an outstanding way for more than 36 years and was instrumental in developing Builders Square into one of the best home improvement chains in the country," said George R. Mrkonic, Kmart's executive vice president, specialty ?retailing.
 "Frank Felicella's many years of varied retailing experience and his success as president and chief operating officer of Builders Square made him the ideal choice to replace Glen Mielke," added Mrkonic.
