KLAJIC CLEARED OF TAKING HER GRANDSON.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  - Former Councilwoman Jill Klajic was cleared Monday of child stealing in a case stemming from custody of her grandson.

The District Attorney's Office refused to file charges against Klajic, who was due to be arraigned Monday after her arrest last month on suspicion of a felony felony (fĕl`ənē), any grave crime, in contrast to a misdemeanor, that is so declared in statute or was so considered in common law. , refusing to turn the 5-year-old over to his mother, said Deputy District Attorney Ron Geltz.

``They had no evidence,'' said Gary Symonds, Klajic's attorney. ``She should have never been arrested. Geltz declined comment other than to say the evidence he was given didn't support filing charges.
