KL Group Announces XRT/gear 2.0; Three Important New Widgets Added to Leading Component Collection.


TORONTO, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 21, 1996--KL Group Inc., the leading supplier of GUI (Graphical User Interface) A graphics-based user interface that incorporates movable windows, icons and a mouse. The ability to resize application windows and change style and size of fonts are the significant advantages of a GUI vs. a character-based interface.  components for X/Motif developers, today announced the release of XRT/gear 2.0.

This collection of essential components features several enhancements, including new Outliner/Tree, Progress, and Combo Box A combination text box and list box. It normally displays as a single line item, but can be opened into a list by clicking its arrow.  widgets that give Motif developers powerful functionality to design and display more flexible user interfaces.

The Outliner An outliner is a special text editor that allows text to be structured as an outline. The advanced Combo Box widget allows users to select functions from a list of alternatives. The Combo Box brings interface flexibility, ease of use, and productivity to the widely-used Motif 1.2 toolkit.
