KIRK HEADS DELTA WORK FIRM MAKES AUTO BARRIERS.

VALENCIA - Bill Kirk has been named to head special projects for Valencia-based Delta Scientific, which builds counterterrorist blockades to guard against car-bomb attacks on buildings around the world.

``Bill is one of the most knowledgeable and successful international security consultants in the business,'' said David Dickinson, senior vice president at Delta. ``He will be personally handling the nation's most important anti-terrorist applications.''

Kirk, fluent in German and able to understand Italian, has a long career in the international security industry. Prior to working at Delta's European branches, Kirk was president of Security Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of Brinks Europe.

``It's more important today than ever to protect populations from terrorist car bombings,'' said Kirk, who previously worked in Delta's Germany and Rome offices. ``I believe my experience in the international security industry will be put to use immediately in helping create vehicle access control solutions, which make all of us more secure.''

Kirk holds a master's degree in finance and accounting from the University of Illinois. He also earned a master's degree in mental health counseling from St. Thomas University and was admitted to a doctoral program in the summer of 2003.

Delta, which recently opened a manufacturing facility in Palmdale, builds three high-security vehicle barricade systems, parking control equipment and guard booths. Delta Scientific has been engineering and manufacturing vehicle access control equipment since 1974 and sells its products worldwide.
