KINGS ROOKIES ARE ON THE BUBBLE : KINGS 4, VANCOUVER 3.

Byline: Roger Phillips

The Kings completed the exhibition schedule Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  and the 24-man regular-season roster appears close to completion as well.

Barring a last-minute trade, the loss of a player or two in today's NHL NHL Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, see there  waiver draft or the signing this week of free-agent defenseman Aki Berg Aki-Petteri Berg (born July 28, 1977 in Turku, Finland) is a Finnish professional hockey defenceman. He currently plays for the Finnish SM-liiga's TPS. He was drafted third overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. , the Kings look to be set in goal and on defense, with only a couple of question marks at the forward positions.

The biggest question appears to be whether either of rookies Josh Green Josh Green (born on November 16, 1977 in Camrose, Alberta) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is currently playing for Red Bull Salzburg EC of the Austrian Hockey League.  and Olli Jokinen - or both - will make the roster that will travel to Edmonton to start the season Saturday.

Following a 4-3 win over the Vancouver Canucks before a crowd of 6,660 at Centennial Garden arena, coach Larry Robinson said much will hinge on the waiver draft. He also said he wants to be cautious with his team's top prospects.

``As the season progresses, kids have ups and downs ups and downs

,'' Robinson said. ``If you can be patient, it makes sense to keep them around. It doesn't make sense if they're going to play a couple of games, then sit a couple.''

Green scored the game-winner Sunday, completing a strong exhibition season. Jokinen, originally not scheduled to play, had one of his stronger performances, as well.

As for Berg, who is playing in his native Finland, the Kings must sign him by Friday or lose his services for the season. General manager Dave Taylor said he isn't optimistic.

In the game, the Kings (6-2-1 in exhibitions) got goals from Philippe Boucher, Jozef Stumpel, Luc Robitaille and Green to beat the Canucks (4-3-1).

Visheau, who injured his left thumb in a fight with Stu Grimson of the Mighty Ducks one week ago, is scheduled to undergo surgery Tuesday and is expected to miss 7-10 weeks.

With Visheau out and Rob Blake sidelined by a hip-flexor strain that the Kings say is mild, the team recalled defenseman Jan Nemecek from the Ice Dogs. Nemecek, who had two assists, was expected to be returned to the Ice Dogs after Sunday's game.
