Jeremy Roenick Jeremy Shaffer Roenick (born January 17, 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts) is a professional ice hockey player currently playing for the San Jose Sharks. He has played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Los Angeles Kings over the course of 18 NHL  isn't likely to practice much for the rest of the season, but it's not a symptom of a bad attitude. The fact Roenick is on the ice at all is rather remarkable.

Roenick scored the only goal in the Kings' victory over Dallas on Saturday night.

For Roenick, it's mind over matter.

``I can't think about it too much,'' Roenick said. ``I can skate and do what I need to do. Sometimes it actually feels better inside a skate, instead of walking around in a shoe. ... Once the adrenaline gets going, it starts to feel better, and it's better now that I have a couple games under my belt.''

The pain must not have bothered Roenick too much Saturday, because he played 23 minutes, 35 seconds, most among any Kings skater.

Roenick has compensated by not participating in morning skates before games and is likely to skip practices frequently over the final two weeks of the regular season in order to stay fresh.

``If he plays like that, he can take all of them off,'' interim coach John Torchetti John Torchetti (born 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an associate coach for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was the coach of the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL for the 2006-2007 season.  said.
