To little surprise, the diplomacy in the Kings' dressing room ended in front of Sean Avery's locker.

Kings players, even those who had issues with former coach Andy Murray, had refrained from publicly torching their former coach since he was fired Tuesday, but Avery rarely is one for holding back.

In a brief, and seemingly half-joking, but effective tirade, Avery chastised chas·tise

``Why did you guys get brainwashed brain·wash

by that guy?'' Avery said. ``Do some work on your own now. Come up with some original (stuff) instead of letting him script everything for you.

``You can't call him now for a quote. Sorry, he doesn't work here anymore. Look at you guys, you're in shock. You're not writing anything down. You're in shock.''

Avery, in his own special way, voiced the same sentiment that many of his teammates have this week, that the Kings view the arrival of interim coach John Torchetti John Torchetti (born 1964 in Boston, Massachusetts) is an associate coach for the Chicago Blackhawks. He was the coach of the Moncton Wildcats of the QMJHL for the 2006-2007 season.  as something of a fresh start.

``I can't wait to play tonight for our new coach,'' Avery said. ``I have no comment about our old coach. I think he's going to hold guys accountable for their play. No one has ever been held accountable here.''

--Show of faith: In Murray's final days, there had been some discussion that Jason LaBarbera Jason LaBarbera (born January 18, 1980 in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada) is a professional ice hockey player who currently plays goalie for the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings. He was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.  might take the place of Mathieu Garon Mathieu Garon (born January 9, 1978 in Chandler, Quebec) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League.

He was drafted 44th by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.
as the Kings' No. 1 goaltender.

Not only did Torchetti stick with Garon, the coach also included Garon as one of the first six players with whom he scheduled individual meetings this week.

So while Torchetti said that he will go with ``whoever wins'' in goal, Torchetti made it clear, through his actions, that he'd like to see Garon be that goalie over the last 12 games of the regular season.

And Garon seemed to appreciate the support.

``It shows that he thinks I'm important to the team,'' Garon said. ``I'm ready I'm Ready is the double platinum second release from R&B singer Tevin Campbell. I'm Ready yielded the biggest R&B hit of his career the #1 R&B smash "Can We Talk", and produce 3 more successful hits in "I'm Ready", "Always In My Heart" and "Don't Say Goodbye Girl".  to show that.

``My job is just to stop the puck. It doesn't really matter to me who is behind the bench.''
